A Circle of Tiny Fighters Making a Global Impact
If you have experienced the NICU journey, you know that premature babies are some of the strongest fighters in the world.
Every breath, every gram gained, every milestone is a victory. while many of our babies survive thanks to medical care, millions of premature babies in underserved countries do not have that same chance.
Each year, about 15 million babies are born prematurely worldwide, and nearly 1 million premature babies die, most of them in under-resourced regions.
We believe the resilience of our tiny fighters can create hope for others.
What is Preemie Global Impact?
Preemie Global Impact is a global circle of families and supporters who understand the NICU journey and want to give back.
Members of the circle honor their preemie’s birthday each year by making a donation that supports premature babies and families in under-resourced regions starting with East Africa. These contributions help provide essential items such as diapers, clothing, formula, and comforting toys for premature babies, as well as counseling for parents navigating the NICU experience, bereavement support for families who have lost a child, and care for premature babies who have been abandoned.
As these babies grow and their families experience the same hope and support, they too can one day give back and help another fragile life. In this way, compassion continues to move forward creating a circle where tiny fighters help other tiny fighters.
Why This Mission Exists
This vision was inspired by the journey of our son, who was born at 23 weeks, weighing just 1 pound 8 ounces. As a family, we experienced the fear, uncertainty, and fragile hope that come with watching a tiny life fight to survive. Our son spent four months in the NICU, and during that time every small step forward felt like a miracle for all of us.
That journey planted a question in our hearts:
What if celebrating the lives of our preemies could help another baby survive?
Preemie Global Impact was created to turn that question into action so that the resilience of our tiny fighters can bring hope to other fragile lives around the world.
